With our professional team and our advanced treatment facilities, this makes us the IVF clinic in Sydney to visit.
Our services start, upon referral of the patient’s family physician or OB-Gyn, with the fertility specialist’s investigation of patient history and lifestyle (both male and female).
Pre-Treatment Tests: The protocol laboratory procedures include:
- for the male, a semen analysis (conducted according to World Health Organization guidelines of 2010) to determine sperm concentration, motility, and quality;
- a blood test for both to determine any infection, or hormonal factors affecting fertility.
- ultrasound to determine any possible blockage, damage or abnormalities in ovaries, fallopian tubes, or uterus. The male shall also be undergoing tests and/or physical examination to determine any abnormalities in the structure, for example, varicocele (abnormal formations of veins above the testicle). In cases of anatomical anomalies affecting the fertility, the clinic also performs surgery as needed to improve chances of fertility.
Assessment and counseling to rule out possible contributing factors via a lifestyle change
Several factors other than those previously mentioned can be attributable to lifestyle, such as stress, smoking among others and we provide lifestyle counseling to increase the likelihood of a successful pregnancy.
Invitro Fertilization (IVF)
IVF involves placing an egg and sperm together in a laboratory to fertilize. Once fertilization takes place, the embryo is then transferred to the uterus to hopefully implant and achieve conception.
Intra-Uterine Insemination (IUI)
Intrauterine Insemination is when a semen sample (partner’s sperm or from a donor) is prepared / processed to separate the sluggish and slow sperms from the fast moving sperms, the latter of which is placed into the woman’s womb.
IntraCytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI )
ICSI is another Assisted Reproductive Technology wherein a single sperm is injected into the egg. This technique is especially useful when the sperm count is too low or sperm quality or motility is poor.
Ovulation Induction (OI)
Ovarian Induction is when a fertility hormone is used to stimulate the ovaries to produce an egg. This is particularly employed when ovulation / menstrual cycle is irregular.
Ovulation Induction with Intrauterine Insemination (OI-IUI)
As the name suggests this technique is when the stimulation of egg production is combined with Intrauterine Insemination.
This technique is when an embryo is collected during its optimal time and frozen for future use. This is also useful in cases where the patient has to undergo chemotherapy which might affect her chances of fertility.
Egg / Sperm Donation
Egg or Sperm Donation is an option when any of the reasons make the patient not able to use their own egg / sperm. Read more to know the conditions when egg or sperm donation is to be considered.
